Advice On Successfully Blogging For Business

FTS Traffic Guru | February 10th, 2010 - 11:16 pm

Blogging became popular in 2004, and a literal overnight sensation. Businesses quickly figured out that blogging was the way to go with an SEO marketing campaign. If you decide that your business is ready for a blog, you need to know how to do so successfully. Linking an informative and useful blog to your website is one of the best ways to build traffic to your online business.

Below is consideration when building a blog for your online business.

Set goals
Know what goals you want your blog to accomplish before you begin. Allow these goals to influence the tone of your blog posts. If you plan to have more than one person blogging for you business, voice these goals to all posters through a written policy. Establish a position as a leading authority in your industry and differentiate your business from your competitors.

Create fresh and personal posts
Your website is your business; your blog is the man or woman behind the business. Keep up on industry trends and changes and convey them to your followers in your own voice. Readers take interest in your thoughts and perspectives on your niche. They want to know your solutions for trends and where you think the business world is headed in relationship to your products or services.

Create a useful blog
Offer advice, solutions to problems, and answer questions. When doing so, create links to other relevant information. The more resources you offer, the more likely followers are to tell others about your business. Read the latest media offered in your industry and share what you learned with your visitors. Offer book and article reviews for blog followers and links to the resource. Becoming a leader in your industry will cause other bloggers from your niche to link to you. In turn, this boosts your website rankings and creates more visibility on the web.

Keyword density
A little known secret about blogging is the SEO strategy of keyword use. Place keywords relevant to your product or service throughout your blog posts. Write organic content that is keyword rich and watch traffic build.

Avoid obvious marketing
Don’t post press releases, newsletters, brochures, and other marketing material on your blog. Sales pitches deter readers from returning. You want to offer something unique and inviting that won’t make your readers feel like they are being sold on a product. Of course, that is the underlying intent of your blog; just don’t shove it down your readers’ throats.

Fresh content
Update your blog content often. Keep your updates short and frequent. Writing one or two paragraphs every other day is far more effective than writing 5,000 words once a month. Internet users have short attention spans. They want fresh content in a precise manner. If you let your blog go for too long, you will lose your readership to someone else.

Stick with it
If you start a blog, keep it up. Don’t be a vigilante for a couple of months and let it die. That’s simply bad for business because it leaves a bad taste in your readers’ mouths.

Tips
Blogging can be a highly effective, low cost marketing tool for you business. Before you set up a blog, plan it out. Make sure you have time to commit. Come up with creative ways to deliver useful information relevant to your niche.

The E-Book Strategy To Blogging Success

FTS Traffic Guru | February 10th, 2010 - 5:18 pm

Bloggers need to pay much attention to the subjects they choose to write about. It’s the only way to attract and retain subscribers.

Smart bloggers plan ahead, plotting out the subject matter they will tackle during the next month or two or even longer. Ideally, the information bloggers share is accretive. In other words, each blog post builds on the knowledge imparted in earlier blog posts.

One method for accomplishing long-range planning and a logical progression of the information for your blog is something I call the “e-book strategy to blogging.” It’s a simple concept but produces very good results.

Here’s how it works. You outline an entire e-book on the subject you plan to blog about. Any good book is organized to gradually increase the reader’s understanding of its topic.

Write the table of contents with this in mind. Then write the component parts of each chapter. Each component part represents an individual blog post. When you have completed all the blog posts that comprise the book, you simply republish the accumulated copy in the form of an e-book. Some people call this “re-purposing” your content.

All that’s required is assembling the blog posts you’ve written and then organizing them into chapters – which is no big deal because you already outlined them at the start of this process. Format the pages so they look attractive and readable and convert it into a PDF file. Voila! You’re ready to market your e-book.

E-books are normally shorter than paper books, with a range of 80-120 pages, and usually free of charge and used to demonstrate competence in the author’s area of expertise. They are often used as an inducement to subscribe to a blog or newsletter, or register for a website, webinar, conference, etc. Or, you could always charge a small fee and sell the fruits of your labor. There is a site called ebooks.com that sells e-books in a variety of categories, including business, computers and fitness.

Once you’ve completed your first e-book you can plot the next one. For example, a staffing firm that represented both employers and employees might write its first e-book for job hunters (especially given the current job climate) and focus on the things they must do to make themselves viable and marketable to top employers. The second e-book might be written for employers and focused on how to best find, assess and assimilate the talented people they need. A different focus for different audiences.

The downside of that one-then-the-other strategy means you would be writing a long series of blog posts geared only toward job hunters, followed by a long series of posts intended for employers. That’s not a formula for retaining subscribers.

The problem can be solved by planning both books from the start and publishing alternating posts – one for job hunters followed by one for employers – until you have the full contents for both e-books. Then you can publish them simultaneously. So you’re serving both of your audiences simultaneously by, perhaps, doing one blog post per week targeting job hunters and a second posting that week geared toward employers.

Another alternative is to write separate blogs for your separate audiences. Some companies have many more than two audiences and publish many blogs for both internal and external audiences.

Why You Need To Start Blogging For Your Business

FTS Traffic Guru | February 10th, 2010 - 5:18 pm

Blogging is an effective marketing tool for any business. It is quickly climbing to the top of the charts for generating sales leads for small businesses. If you run a small business, consider linking a blog to your website to generate more traffic. A few short blogs a week could mean big bucks in your pocket.

Why blog?
Most blog entries consist of a few short paragraphs-maybe with some added photos or videos. However, blog readers can added comments, ask questions, and provide feedback with each post. Unlike your website that basically presents your business portfolio, a blog allows you insight to your demographic.

No-pressure
Blogging allows you to engage with current and potential clients in a non-threatening atmosphere. Readers get to know the people behind the business and the company’s values, goals, and accomplishments. You can become an authority on your niche and offer industry insight, tips, and solutions.

Feedback
Since readers are allowed to post comments on your blog, you receive instant feedback to help improve your business strategy. Often when clients visit your online store or website, they come and go with no interaction. Blogging allows you to get to know your clientele and what they think of your products, services, or industry in general. You gain insight into clients’ needs and interests, which provides information to better your products or services.

Breath life into your company
Face it, the biggest set back for running an online business is lack of client interaction. Blogging gives your company a voice, and adds to human element to the static website you run. Your website is an essential marketing tool, but it works more like a brochure offering information about your company and products. An effective blog allows clients to interact with the people behind those products.

Low cost
Most public blog sites are free, thus blogging cost little to no money to run. Blogs are easy to set up, and easy to manage.

Keyword use
A little known secret in the search engine optimization industry is the effective use of keywords in blog posts. We all know that keyword density in websites is essential to aid in spiders finding your business. Likewise, strategic placement of keywords in your blog posts creates quality links to your online business.

Considerations
Posting a few paragraphs every other day is far more effective than posting a novella of information once a month. Update your blog often, in short increments. Log on to reply to comments, answer questions, and offer new industry solutions.

Keep informed on the latest industry news, and provide links to helpful resources. If you read a book, write review about it and share the book information with your readers. If someone else reported on industry changes, provide a new perspective on the same topic.

Don’t let your blog die. If you start one, keep it up. If you post every other day for three months and then disappear, readers will lose trust in your business and look elsewhere in the industry for your product. Remember that blogging is a committed marketing strategy. It is highly effective if you use it often and wisely.

How To Use A Free Blog To Publicize Your Internet Based Business Opportunities

FTS Traffic Guru | February 10th, 2010 - 5:16 pm

A blog is one of the easiest things to set up and once you have it set up you can begin to publicize your online income opportunities immediately as you can have it up and running in a matter of minutes. There are many free blog platforms available on the internet other than WordPress.com or Blogger.com; it is just a matter of doing a search on Google and finding one that appeals to you.

The difficulty that most people find is not in getting the blog set up; the difficulties arise afterwards when it comes to finding enough inspiration to keep the blog regularly updated with new posts. There is nothing more damaging to your internet business than to make the mistake of somebody finding your blog on the web that has gone for weeks with nothing fresh being posted. This lack of action will quickly send out the message that the business owner is not really dedicated to their business.

There is some good news that you should be aware of though, it is not that difficult to keep finding inspiration when it comes to making blog posts.

Not all of your blog posts need to be the same length and you can change the style and subject matter as you please, so long as it still relates to the niche that you internet based business is promoting.

Here are some tips to help you get some ideas on what you need to do to keep blogging regularly.

1. Quick tips.

Adding tips as a blog post is a great way to increase the content to your blog in between longer posts and people love receiving them.

You can limit this type of post to no longer than 150 words and it can even be less than that. A good idea is to open a file on your computer and label it “Tips”. Make it a habit to save any information on business tips that you can write in point form quickly.

When you run out of inspiration or have very little time then using one of these tips as a post will help to keep your blog active and you can make a longer post at a later date.

2. Product Reviews.

Write reviews on products that you are promoting as part of your internet based business and so long as you have tested and tried these products you will then be in a position to recommend them to people.

Always give an honest review and inform people about anything with a product that you don’t particularly like as well as the good points about it. This will not only help them to make an informed decision on whether or not the product is right for them, but it also helps to build your reputation as being someone that is trustworthy and will increase the possibilities of more people joining your mailing list as you become known as an expert in your chosen niche.

Writing product and book reviews is an excellent method of monetizing your blog. By adding an affiliate link into your review that will take the reader to a sales page you will find that you begin to increase the amount of sales that you make.

3. Book Reviews.

Make it a habit to read books that are connected to your particular internet based business niche and write reviews on them. As you would do with product reviews, discuss the positive and negative points that you find in the book that you are reviewing and remember to include an affiliate link to the book so that you can earn a commission when one of your readers purchases it. Joining Amazon.com as an affiliate is easy.com affiliate and earn commissions on any sales that you make.

Is There A Magic Formula For Blogging Success?

FTS Traffic Guru | February 10th, 2010 - 5:16 pm

A blog can be a foundation for your marketing outreach. Many companies have incorporated blogging into their internet marketing strategy. Sadly, a lot of businesses fail at blogging. Why? Simply because they use the blog as an outlet for pitching their products or services. What they need to do is provide helpful and actionable content, so that their readers could benefit or learn something from it. Let’s face it: there are millions of blogs out there, and the last thing you need is another boring or self-promotional content, putting everyone to sleep.

So, how can you use blogs to grow your business online? What should you do to get the most of this popular tool?

First and foremost, try to attract readers with a soft sell approach that provides useful, interesting and timely information. Eventually, it might lead them towards a purchase decision. I think the best approach is to find a little-covered niche or angle where you have a great deal of expertise. This way you will be able to position yourself as an expert and maybe even establish the leading blog on that topic.

What should you blog about?

1. Solve problems. If your blog provides specific solutions to common problems that your readers experience, with time you will be able to build a loyal audience.

2. Be provocative. You may challenge your readers with some controversy or provocative topics that usually generate heated discussions.

3. Encourage interaction. You will attract more readership, if you allow people to contribute their perspective.

4. Don’t waste anybody’s time. Avoid publishing “filler” content. Always put your best foot forward by providing valuable tips for your readers.

5. Feel free to share the load. Not everything on your blog has to be written by you. It is okay to ask your customers, partners, colleagues or even friends to contribute their comments, articles or perspective.

A few main reasons why blogging is important

1. Search engines love blogs. Posting new content on your blog makes it easier to attract more traffic. Each new entry creates a new page in the search engine’s index, which generates additional listings in the search engine’s databases. The sooner you update your blog, the more likely it is that search engine spiders will find it, index it and add it to their listings.

2. Blogs are inexpensive. Fortunately, free open-source software and intense competition have made blogging cheap or often free. So, there is no need to rely on expensive IT departments for routine operations.

3. Blogs are easy to update. Setting up and running a blog is an easy task, and most people are capable of doing that. Easy means more frequent updates. It also means increased communication with your customers. This may result in increased sales and improved bottomline.

Don’t forget that regular updates can be automatically syndicated all across the Web to other websites or into blog reading tools for people who read a lot of blogs daily. These updates can also be posted on your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn accounts or other social networks. This easy and automatic syndication of content across the Net helps you deliver your content to anyone who is interested. Once you decide to start a blog, you should commit to a long-term relationship with your audience. This relationship is based on consistent publishing and regular updates with high-quality material.

When it comes to blogging challenges are inevitable. Creating informative and interesting posts can be challenging. Please keep in mind that the posts should not be only about you, your products or your services. What you can offer is fresh information about industry trends, statistics or even some links to unrelated websites. Try to diversify your posts. Let the process go above and beyond just pitching your products. Make sure you do not overpublish or underpublish. I suggest that you find a middle ground-provide enough information to keep your readers hooked, but not enough to turn them off.

One more suggestion: Given the high traffic in the blogosphere, it is crucial that your blog clearly communicates your company’s priorities, branding and latest initiatives. Your blog should be produced or supervised by marketing or communications executives, because their input can help your blog reinforce your public image and maybe even generate new sales.

Automated Blog Software – How To Go Broke Using Automated Blog Software

FTS Traffic Guru | February 10th, 2010 - 5:16 pm

Question: I want to implement a software solution into my blog site that will help me with SEO and also attract more visitors. Is there automated blog software out there that will accomplish this without breaking my bank account? The following are some rules to live by when deciding on a specific software application for this. There is no one size fits all because not everyone has the same needs for their blogging business. But a rule that does fit all is the effectiveness of a tool and how it can break any size bank account if not utilized correctly. So my intention of this article is to show you how to waste your money on automated blog software. Yes, you want to avoid these mistakes to be able to focus on quality.

If you can find some automated blog software that claims “push this button here and you will be successful”, then this is an excellent way to start arbitrarily burning that money in your account. It’s easy to get caught up in the fluff when your greatest need is to see some sort of success in your blogging business, so to be captivated on these outrageous claims, is easy to do. Yes, the beauty of automation is in fact automation itself, but you still need to build the engine before you can fire it up and let it run. Another great part of this waste is to move on to another product with better than ever claims.

So now you have invested into the first “push this button for success” claim and realized it doesn’t fulfill your dreams, so you move onto another program with even “better” claims. Do you realize what is going on here? I call this the “chaos” method; Cash Hungry Active Online Search for Success. This methodology will only spin you in circles and eventually leave you broke and disgusted with opportunities that you probably have high natural abilities for attaining, but will never see because you are constantly stuck at this stage in your business plan. With the proper investigation into new programs, you will end up with an educated selection of programs that you can ultimately choose the best one for your needs. Once you have chosen, STICK WITH IT! Don’t change planes during mid flight. That’s why the good companies that produce this software give you a guarantee, a time frame to implement the applications.

Guarantees often reflect the companies that provide them. Guarantees aren’t just for the good nature of the businesses that produce this software. They give you this guarantee with the understanding that you will take the time allotted to implement it and prove that it works. It’s every good company’s hopes that you prove them right. Any other company that subscribes to the theory of you failing will not be around longer than a typical guarantee anyway. “Time is money” comes into play in so many ways for this subject.

When deciding on which program to buy, ask yourself if you can work with the company producing it. If they truly want your business, they will create a relationship with you. As I said, any sketchy companies just trying to make a buck on your failure will not be around long anyway. To start with a good relationship, a company will provide a quality guarantee. This will give you adequate time based on typical industry experience that says if you implement “my product” for this given amount of time, you will see results based on your current conditions.

This industry is much like a giant ocean. You can harness the energy and use it to your advantage or you can fight off a tidal wave with an umbrella. When starting off in the blogging business, don’t guess. There are plenty of mentors out there that have been where you are right now and want to help. The beauty of the internet is that it is constantly growing and new opportunities are constantly abound. When you are ready to invest in this type of software, hopefully you will avoid these mistakes and give your blogging business a jump start out of the gates. Remember you still need to build the engine before you can fire it up and let it run your blogging business.

Champions Guide To Blogging – Pt 2

FTS Traffic Guru | February 10th, 2010 - 5:16 pm

Ok so the rules for blog content are….there are no rules and there are no limitations to what you can write, obviously you dot want to go insulting people or writing bad things about people or organizations because that will just lead to bad press and bad remarks for your blog, or you may even get it shut down in serious cases…

Now there are differences in a profitable blog and a non-profitable blog. Ok so I want you to think back to the days of school and university…ok come back it`s not that long ago…;-) Your professor wasn’t exactly the most exciting person was he or she…unless you had Miss….um ok sorry I`m back…the point I`m trying to make is you would rather read something from your best novel/favourite author than the boring professor right? Well for most of us anyway…

Most people that will come and read your blog would like to read “soft” or “light” stuff. They are looking for info that can be easily obtained and easily absorbed not like the professors notes…Try be personal in your blogs to keep people coming back, use your humour on some if it`s justifiable, everyone loves t smile and laugh. Another thing you could use is free gifts, now I don’t always advise this but I don’t see anything wrong with giving your readers something for taking the trouble to reading your blog.

Make your blog personal as if it’s a one on one…don’t write it like you would a speech…you don’t want your visitors to think your of a higher authority but more of a personal friend.

Fresh topics need to be spoken about regularly to keep your readership high so spice things up. The very first option that I think a blogger should write on is a topic that he or she feels passionate and interested in. You’ve chosen to make blogging your career because you want to escape a mundane job – forcing yourself to write about something that you’re not interested in is as torturous as your mundane job! Not only will the topic keep you motivated to right your feelings and emotions will shine through. If you feel indifferent to a certain subject but still write about it just for the sake of it, your readers will notice it, just remember that.

Now the first few weeks will be testing but once you get into the swing of things and once you keep writing, more ideas will come flowing into your head and you blog will transform tremendously. What you can do is see what other bloggers are writing about and have conversations with them and or get ideas, now it`s not a good idea to copy and this can cause a lot of friction and not the good kind I tell you. You can find other bloggers here technorati.com and blogsearch.google.com

Another way to get good content for your blogs is YouTube…Skynews… ESPN, it’s all about what you are gonna be writing about. There are endless ideas out there.

Go all out and get good information that is practical enough to apply.

Don’t try to deceive people: As an internet entrepreneur, never you try to tell people what will not work. Any information you want to sell, make sure you test it and it work for you before releasing it to your visitors on your blog. If you tell people lies for once they will never come back to your blog again.

They are tired of old contents. Always refresh your contents. You must beat the expectation your visitors if you want to keep them coming back to your blog. Don’t keep on giving out the same old information. At least post new contents to your blog twice in a week. Champions Guide To Blogging Pt 4

FTS Traffic Guru | February 10th, 2010 - 11:16 am

For a lot of bloggers and most website owners, bringing in a few extra dollars from their page or site is reason enough for doing it in the first place. We are going to go over the different ways and methods of generating income from things such as Google AdSense, affiliates, click-thrus, referrals and linkbacks to name just a few here. There is a section further down this page that details and summarizes monetizing your blog or website. Blog hosts such as Blogger, and WordPress have templates that are generally set up to accept ads very easily on to the page. In the case of Blogger, Google AdSense integrates itself almost automatically into many of the templates that you can choose from when setting up your account. If you would like to use AdSense on your website or any other page you need to set up a Gmail account. Do this if you don’t already have a Gmail email address. Once you have a Google account you can start using AdSense.

Affiliates

Another type of revenue stream from your blog to look into is an affiliate program like one from AffiliateBOT. This is where you agree to put an ad on your website or blog advertising someone else’s product or website. Payments are usually made on a per-click basis and monies are paid out at set minimum amounts. Affiliate programs such as the Google Affiliate Network and Yahoo! Affiliate program are a good place to start. Affiliate Bot also offers a wealth of information regarding tons of affiliates.

Setting up an account with an affiliate is as easy as finding a reputable one and joining. About the only thing that can and sometimes pose a problem is site or blogs content. Most affiliates will not accept pornography, or sites dedicated to hate or bigotry, blogs that talk about or deal with illegal activities or narcotics. Almost all affiliates will look at your sites content before accepting you into their affiliate program. There are two types of programs out there to look for. Those that are simple one site or blog affiliations or the ones like Affiliatebot that put you in touch with hundreds of potential affiliates. Use affiliates. If you are serious at all about generating ad revenue then you need to have some affiliates set up.

Text Links

Next on the list: Text Link Ads. These are another good addition to any page. They are user-friendly and unobtrusive. Here is an example of the type you have seen a lot: “Create a website the fun and easy way!” They are easily placed and there are a number of websites offering text link services. As a matter of course almost any website that sells almost anything offers some sort of link exchange. You can work text links two ways. They can be part of an affiliate program or you can have a reciprocal link placed on your site. In the case of reciprocal links, a link back to your website is placed on the other site. It is a simple link trade. Remember Ad relevance. Are the ads you are placing on your blog or site relative to the content it contains? Also important. Every second word in your paragraph should NOT be a text link. Remember that website you were at that had every second word as an underlined link and that whenever your mouse pointer passed over one of these links something annoyingly popped up? It is annoying and trust me the person reading it, or at least trying to read it, will not do you any favours by clicking on the links.

Since in all our examples we talk about a blog or site that talks about or sells camera lenses, we’ll continue the theme here. So let us suppose your blog about lenses is ready to go and you have all sorts of areas put aside for ads and the like. It’s time to put the coffee on again and start searching. Do a search and look for companies and websites that compliment your site or blog or share a common interest. Since you site is selling lenses its time to start finding websites and blogs that deal with photography. Once at a website or blog that meets your standards look for an Affiliate button or link either at the top or the very bottom of the page. Almost all sites and blogs have a “contact” link somewhere on the page as well. Use this if there is no affiliate link or link exchange button to be found. Send an email requesting a possible affiliation between your blog or site and theirs. Point out what your two pages have in common. Be very polite and let them know the reason you are inquiring about becoming an affiliate with them is because you are impressed with their product or blog. Offer to place a link on your site or blog in exchange for one of your on their page.

A simple link exchange between websites or blogs is still one of the best ways to improve your blogs listing in search results generated by a blogs or sites keywords and phrases. Yes, it takes a lot of time to contact quality people and sites. There are a lot of emails to be written and sent. It’s par for this course. Remember what was discussed earlier and avoid the temptation to use a site that sells links. It isn’t profitable and your sites listing will suffer because of your affiliation with what is considered a unethical way of promoting your site. Also, be very critical of the sites or companies that you become an affiliate with. Pick only the very best ones. This is what I meant above when I spoke of your standards. Only align yourself with professionals. Quality content above all else. This should always include ads.
