How To Get Both Traffic And One Way Links From Your Article Marketing Endeavors?

Majority of marketing newcomers just aren’t some writing and advertising geniuses – me first.
And that is fine.

But, all of us must maintain a certain level of quality within every text or blog post.

Too many people type articles and posts for search engines only. Although there is nothing bad in that, forgetting about an audience is a huge mistake of that method.
Just think about that for a few seconds – what do you achieve from an article that is in the top 3 Google SERP-s and is entirely impossible to understand by any human being?

Majority of the visitors who visit that article will just click the back button in their browser. Sure, you still have that one way link or maybe 2, but you are driving away a potentially very important web traffic.

Top three – Google, Bing and Yahoo definitely are the most targeted “fountains” of interested prospects, but not the only as well. Typing high-quality articles and placing them on high-authority article directories, like GoArticles, gives you a fantastic opportunity to get top positions in the Google, Yahoo & Bing.

Let’s take Google for example, as most of us use particularly that search engine. To rank your article in Google top 3 positions (they receive 75 % visits on average), you have to follow certain rules.

First of all, install Google Toolbar in your favorite web browser. When you are done with that, go and find out the Page Rank of the article directory/directories you submit your articles to. PR is a unique measurement that Google gives to the site based on its “importance”.

Don’t worry about this too much, as the technical features of this measurement really aren’t that related to our main concern.

What DOES matter is that, in order to get your article in the top three positions, the Page Rank of the article directory you are going to submit your article to should be PR4 or higher. To avoid surprises, your best option is to simply chose Ezine Articles, GoArticles and ArticlesBase and a few other PR6 & PR5 article directories. A good option is also ehow.com that has a PR value of 7. If you type an article with the article title starting at “how to” or any other “how…”, absolutely submit it on ehow.

Now, you need to pick search terms. You may be familiar with Google Keyword Tool, however, it doesn’t present many long tail search entries. None of the keyword tools are entirely precise, but we don’t have anything better at the moment. Basically, what you are supposed to do is to go to free Wordtracker tool and enter a keyword or a keyword phrase related to the main thematic of your article.

Wordtracker offers two nice tools – free keyword tool and questions tool. The first one shows various results with the daily numbers of searches, and the latter one displays only question type of search entries, such as “how do…”, “where do…”, “what to…” etc.
Pick one of the longtail keyword terms and copy/paste it to Google, but between “xxx”. When you search that way, Google presents only those websites or blogs that have that exact keyword phrase somewhere in their heading and/or content.

The number of websites listed when you use “keyword” shouldn’t be greater than five thousand (5000), which means that there mustn’t be more than 5 000 competing websites. If that is the case, then you only need to is type an article with that identical search phrase in the title, and, if possible, within the article text itself.

However, always remember that you create an article for real people, so if you just stuff your article with the keyword phrase you aim for, the visitor will only walk away from your article and find something else.

The ultimate goal of your article is to make the visitor to click on the link in the article that points to your site. You don’t even have to make fabulous article, it is enough to serve the reader with useful advice that will make him/her to click the link to your site.

And last, but not the least, factor you must take care of is PR versus competing sites number. Ezine Articles has got a PR6, which makes it a perfect choice for search phrases that have up to 10 000 competing websites. ArticlesBase, GoArticles and a few others have PR5 and they are perfect for search phrases with max 2-3 thousand competition websites.

However, there are a lot other factors which influence the placement of your article on the SERP-s. When your article is, for example on Google page one, but on a position number 9, then you technically don’t stand a chance to get a visit. In order to kick it up a few position up, simply make a few dozens of links to it from another articles, forum posts, social sites etc. At certain situations only a link or probably two of them will be enough.

There are certain websites and blogs out there where you can actually get lots of article ideas. This ebook blog is a good example. It offers many money making ebooks, that describe online marketing and getting cash online generally, and with certain highly profitable markets.

Some of the niche ebooks provide lots of ideas for great articles, even if you have little knowledge about certain topic. So, go ahead and start building your online business now!
